There are no Deramus graves in the Weaver cemetery, unless they are one of the unmarked ones. I am sorry that I couldn't be of more help. Good Luck, Marky

"Autauga At War" focuses on all of Old Autauga County as it was before the formation of Elmore & Baker (Chilton) Counties. I am very familiar with Jimmy Allen's site on the 6th Alabama. We have been in contact over the past several years, exchanging information about Compaies G, E, & H of the 6th. His site is a grand tribute to the 6th Regiment. Sadly to report, Jimmy passed away earlier this month. He will be missed by many. Jim Martin, creator & webmaster of the ACWMB posted this "Memorial" for Jimmy. http://history-sites.com/memorial.htm Barry

"Col" Allen in Texas has done the page. Use meta search and type in "Alabama 6th Infantry and Civil War" The focus, as I understand, yours will contain information from descendants of all veterans from Autauga Co. not just on one regiment. If you want to do search, the Autauga Rifles by Thompson lists the roster as he recalled it. Thank you for your message. Looking forward to your home page.

The Weaver cemetery is off of County road 16, between Bethel Baptist church and County Road 7. There is a new road on the right, going towards Jones from Bethel church. The new road has a sign with a street name, but I can't remember what it is. Turn right onto that road and you will see the cemetery in a chain link fenced area off to the right and a trailer off to the left. The Deramus cemetery is near Independence, off of County road 40. Coming from Independence, if you get to County road 13 without seeing the cemetery you have gone too far, it should be on the right side of the road before you get to Friendship church. Hopes this helps, Marky Lynn
Does anyone know if the Manning family still has their reunion? I know they once had a reunion at Confederate Park. Thanks. Geoff Stough

I think I remember seeing an old newspaper article, about the dedication, in some of my mother's pictures. We were living out of state at that time. I will look through the pictures and let you know. I have read several local history books and can try and get what information you need. From what I have heard, the old Milton cemetary was flooded when the big flood wiped out the old Milton settlement. I only live about 3 miles from Milton and will try and get a picture of the monument for you. If you would like, I could E-mail you or just post things here. Marky
