Ellis" is Nathan Demse, who was the first born son of Susan Jane Weaver & Jefferson Ellis. I have he married Amanda Ingram (this same Ingram line, is also in this same Ellis line with 2 marriages) BUT I dont have the date. I dont know who this John P. or J. T. is right now BUT never know, they could be related. I am specifically looking for a marriage of a ELLIS woman during this period (1870-1880). My gg GF's sister, Josephine Ellis. I last find her in the 1870 census living with the John J. Letcher family. I cannot find anything else on her, so I am assuming she married bet. 1870-1880. Is she listed?

Autauga County records are on-line - I would have to search for the link - Prattville is north of Montgomery and was named for Daniel PRATT who came from Macon, GA, was an architect and went into the coal mining business with DeBardeleben in Jefferson County, AL - also Prattville and Millbrook ( a very small community) had lots of cotton mills - delilah At 09:55 2/20/03 -0700, [email protected] wrote: >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Surnames: Patterson, Motley, Mims >Classification: Query > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/pR.2ADE/854.2.1 > >Message Board Post: > >To Ella B. My husband is African-American and related to Shacklefords and Motleys in Autauga. Here is more of what I know: Thomas Shackleford probably lived in Autauga County, Alabama. He had at least 3 children: Henry, Martha and Gus. Henry Shackleford married Henrietta Patterson and they had 2 children: Flora Belle and Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen is my husband's mother. She was born in Birmingham, lived in Selma and moved as a young girl to Chicago. Henry Shackleford died in September of 1949 in Chicago. Martha Shackleford married John Anderson. I have a picture of a very tall Walther Shackleford, but am still waiting to hear how we are related. I'd love to connect our families if possible. Thanks, Mary
