I have just recently made the connection with Joseph and James Edward, before my info. had all been word of mouth. Do you have any info. on Joseph? I know his parents and siblings , just don't know when and where he died. Family tells he died in prison around Jefferson Co., AL. pretty soon after Minnie was born. My mother can remember visiting Parlee (her grandmother) when Parlee was married to Mr. Fox (after 1930). Parlee was a small blond, blue eyed lady. Any help you can give me with Joseph or Parlee will be appreciated.

    1. [ALAUTAUG-L] Milly DeJarnette Hall/James E. Scott
    2. Michael Husij
    3. Seeking information on Milly DeJarnette Hall. Milly is buried in the Old Waverly Cemetery in Walker Co., TX., along with two of her children: Samuel Coleman Scott and John Elliott Scott. Tombstone inscription: She was born in Alabama, on the 7th of Jan. A.D. 1818 and was united with James E. Scott in marriage on the 14th Nov. 1833, and died on the 16th of Jan. 1858. In communion with Methodist Episcopal Church South. Most of the information on the children of James E. Scott and Milly DeJarnette Hall was copied from the William Bonnell Hall papers at UNC, Chapel Hill. The following is quoted from those papers, Folder #81, Hall Genealogical Data: "Milley DeJarnette Hall, the only daughter and child of Dixon Hall and his third wife Milly Hutchinson, who died January 22, 1818, was born January 7, 1818 just a short time before the death of her mother. She was named for the second wife of Dixon Hall [Milly DeJarnette] her father who died November 3rd 1815. Milley DeJarnette and Milley Hutchinson the second and third wives of Dixon Hall were closely related and their parents came from Prince Edward County, Virginia. Milley Hall as she was called at the death of her father in 1820 was left under the guardianship of her uncle Bolling Hall. In the will of Dixon Hall, dated December 8, 1819 under item 3 is, "Item 3. I give and bequeath to my daughter Milly Hall" certain real estate described. A codicil to the will dated January 12, 1820 is here given: "I leave in charge of my brother Bolling Hall my daughter Milly Hall to be raised by him, and it is my will and desire that he shall enter into and take full charge of the property which I have bequeathed to her to be made and applied by him in any manner which he conceives will but promote her interest." "Shortly after Boling Hall's death, Milly's brother, William Hall, took his half sister Milly and she was raised as a member of his family until her marriage in 1833. She therefore lived during her childhood days in Autauga County in her brother's family consisting of nine children together with the three orphans of her brother Thomas Hunt Hall. She married November 14, 1833 Dr. James Edward Scott, who moved later to Waverly Texas, and became the mother of fourteen children. She died January 16, 1858." Any additional information on this family, or specifically, Milly Hall, would be greatly appreciated. Would love to share what I have, also. Susan Hill Husij Phoenix, AZ

In the July 7 edition of the newsletter, I identified the owner/operator of this "business" as 21-year-old Elias Abodeely of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Since then, I have had conversations with several people in Iowa about this "business." I can now report that earlier today the Cedar Rapids police department arrested Elias Abodeely for his activities with GenSeekers.com and the other Web sites he operates. KWWL television in Iowa is now reporting that Cedar Rapids Police have made an arrest after a two year Internet crime investigation. The crimes involved genealogy websites. Today police arrested Elias Abodeely II of Cedar Rapids.. He faces four charges: 1st degree theft, identity theft, money laundering, and ongoing criminal conduct. Police say they expect to file charges against more suspects. Details are still developing. Keep an eye on the newsletter Discussion Board at http://www.eogn.com for updates. I will also be writing about this in the next newsletter. You can read my earlier article at http://www.eogn.com/archives/news0327.htm. - Dick Eastman _______________________________________________ Newsletter-standard mailing list [email protected] http://eogn.com/mailman/listinfo/newsletter-standard_eogn.com
