The deadline for reporting of hours for Award #22 page 54 in the Yearbook and Minutes book is the same as for essays: June 15. This deals with the volunteer hours at the Confederate Memorial Park in Crenshaw County. Volunteer hours are based on per person. For example, if two people worked ten hours, that's twenty hours. If one person worked five hours, that's five hours. If thirty people worked 1 hour, that's thirty hours. If there are no chapters reporting volunteer hours but there are chapters donating benevolent funds to the park, we will count 1 hour per five dollars, so please turn in that information as well. Please send the number of hours, your chapter name and number, and your contact person name and information to mcguffey@live.com As this is not a judgment call and is based on numbers, this will simplify the reporting of this data and the Chapter with the most reported hours will then be reported to Donna Clark. I apologize if anyone is upset with this procedure; I will do better next year at clarifying. I hope the numbers are high and the reporting Chapters are many. This award is in honor of my mother, who would love seeing the beautiful park that has been created mostly by volunteers; in fact, the founder of the park is the son of one of Mother's friends. This is my way of showing my respect and love to her.....she was our family tree, ancestry.com, rootsweb specialist who helped many, many people she had never even met by doing research, teaching them how to do research, and sharing her own research.....and enjoyed every moment. Thank you, Lucy
