In Rev. T. H. Ball's history of Clarke county (copyright 1879) is this sketch: "Miss Margaret Mitchell afterwards became a Mrs. Jordan. She was the owner of the "Buena Vista plantation" so called, on the Mitchell reserve (Clarke County). She died in Mobile on Friday, December 5, 1879."
