Dear Don: I have been having a heck of a time trying to find my Grandfathers birth certificate. In those days 1872 or around the birth certificates did not have a place for the childs name. So, it would say boy or girl born to whatever the childs name was.But,here is an address that might help you. All of the main records are supposed to be held here that are still available. State of Alabama Department of Archives and History PO Box 300100 Montgomery Alabama 36130. Send in $12.00. And if they don't find anything they will return your money. Hope that this helps.
