Mary: A similar thing happened in Mobile with two of my ancestors, James and Mary Hill. I found papers settling their estate and awarding guardianship two separate times, when the minor children became orphaned. All should be on file in the Probate Court records at the County Courthouse in Mobile. Kathryn
