Don, I checked Burial Records, Mobile County, Alabama, 1820-1856, Volume I published by the MGS IN 1963 and find no William Ryan, nor any Ryan during July, from 1840-1850. I also checked Tombstone Incriptions, Catholic Cemetery, Mobile Alabama, published by MGS in 1986 and although there are several Ryans buried there in the 1800s, none match your person's name or date.
