Patty: The area of Mobile to which you refer is actually spelled Crichton, which is actually in the City of Mobile. I believe that Higgins and Roche Funeral Homes were the oldest ones in Mobile and were probably in existence then. Roche is still in existence. It has a new name that I can't remember( Some nice person wrote me, gave me the new name, and address. I failed to save it. Sorry!) They may still have records of your ancestor. If they do, you will be surprised at how much information you will find on the record! Most of the time, it's like striking gold! Good luck! Kathryn
