MCEVOY, JOHN listed on CHARLES CO MD Census for 1790: May be onto something here-- My 3rd great grandfather GUILLERMO MACABOY, later known as WILLIAM MCVOY,SR had 2 or 3 brothers that I know of. One was JOAQUIN, b.ca.1773 approx in PENSACOLA,FL. He was known as JOHN or JUAN and their real original last name was either MCEVOY or MCAVOY. Then I found the listing for JOHN MCEVOY in CHARLES CO in 1790. I just found a record on the new LDS search site of a BAPTISM at a church in BALTIMORE,MD for 1810, so it does look like my family was in the area in this timeframe as well as in PENSACOLA. "MARY MCVOY was Christened 1 AUG 1810 BALT., ST.PAUL PROTESTANT EPISCOPAL CHURCH, BALTIMORE,MD. Daughter of JAMES (* who would be DIEGO) and MARY (who would be MARY EUPHROSINE BOUSAGE MCCURTIN MCVOY) and the child was probably MARY EUPHOSINE, known as EUPRHOSINE MCVOY who apparently grew up in MOBILE AL." Please,if anyone sees any further info on JOHN MCEVOY or JAMES MCEVOY in the SOUTHERN MD or DC areas in the late 1700's to early 1800's, remember me.
