Jeffrey: In Charles E. Bryant's new book, The Tensaw Country, North of the Ellicott Line, Mr. Bryant has several pages about the McVoys and Byrnes. He indicates that the original Byrne settler, Gerald Byrne, was from Ireland and arrived at Savannah in 1781. One of his daughters, Margaret, married William McVoy.
