    1. Re: [AL-MOBILEBAY-L] Yellow fever epidemic
    2. There was a yellow fever epidemic in Mobile, AL in the summer of 1848. My great-great grandparents, Louis Gabriel Touart and Margarita Quina (Jr.) Touart lost three boys, 8 1/2, 4, and 1 1/2 that summer. I know there was another yellow fever epidemic but I'm not sure of the date. This same gggrandparents lost 3 more, a boy 7 1/2 and girls 5 and 2 to scarlet fever in the summer of 1857. There was also a smallpox epidemic in Pensacola in 1874 because a surviving daughter lost an 8 year old girl then.
