    3. Yes, I believe you are right about the reason for the "Can't Get Away Club." My gg grandfather, Isaac DAVIS was a volunteer fireman and was in the "club." I have some items that were copied from the "Mobile Daily Advertiser" (September, 1853) which includes names of the "Standing Committee" and some info about the club. I don't have time right now, but in the near future I will post these names to the AL-MOBILEBAY-L for all to see.
