He was a member of the Masonic lodge at St. Stephens, land office agent, magistrate, and asst. Indian agent who with Lt. Gaines arrested Aaron Burr. He briefly removed to Wakefield, Washington Co., Ala., and finally Mobile. His wife was Mrs.Mary S. Malone and he likely maried 1799 (then land clerk, Raleigh, N.C.) to circa 1805.
