    1. [AL-MOBILEBAY-L] 1860 CENSUS LOOK UP/ 1870 SAME FAMILY
    2. HINES, Michael Mobile Co, AL Location: 5 W. Mobile 1860 Census Pg. #051 So far no one in Mobile or Alabama has responded to my request for a look-up and at this time I can't afford to send $10 to the archives, so please could some kind person help me? I am trying to find my grandfather Edward F. HINES b. 1860 Mobile, AL, so I would like to ask if someone could do an 1870 census look up as well. My Uncle Leslie told me about Michael coming to America in 1833 from Alsace Lorrain, but I haven't been able to verify that at all. My Mother told me that she had seen papers for Michel HINES from King Louis XIV to come to the new world. So, if Michel (French for Michael) came at that time that would have been quite a bit earlier. I believe my uncle may have said that he came in through LA as well, but he was an old man and could have been a bit confused as he was living in an old soldier's home; so I am trying to see if this Michael in the 1860 census could possibly be my ggrandfather. I don't know when Edward was born and he might not be on this census at all, so that is why I am requesting a look up for both 1860 and 1870. Thank you, Pastor Barbara
