The Mobile Public Library Local History Division is located downtown at 704 Government Street, Mobile, 36602 and has copies of Mobile City Directories I know for 1837, '38, '39, '42, '44, '50 because I have used them. The Mobile Genealogy Society also has a library and many mortuary records, cemetery records, etc. and the quarterlies go back to 1962 and they have an index for them from '62-'99 for all the many and varied articles that have appeared in the Deep South Genealogical Quarterly.
