    1. Re: [AL-MOBILEBAY] BYRD's & LOTT's
    2. TreeMother
    3. Hello: I am researching the Langford/Lankford family which lived in Greene Co. and intermarried with the Lotts and Byrds while migrating to MS from GA in Mobile, AL. I have copies of the marriage records. Daniel Langford/Lankford married Lavisa Lott daughter of Jesse Lott.; Judith Langford married Jesse Byrd; and Stephen Langford married Polly Byrd. These marriages occured in the early 1820's. Lavisa Lott died in Texas when she migrated here with her son, Daniel Jr. I am also looking for records on William Washington Mills and James Palmer who married sisters and the daughters of Elleby Langford/Lankford in Greene Co. Both the ladies died (probably in childbirth) and their husbands are named in land records for Elleby. Elleby's father was Edmund or Edward Langford. The name Edmund is interchangeable with Edward and causes confusion in researching. He migrated to GA about 1793 or earlier from SC. He may have been born in VA or NC between 1760 and 1770 as calculated from the 1830 census of Washington Co. Alabama.
