The Family History Library has "Alabama deaths, 1908-1974; index to deaths, 1908-1959, 1908-1974" available on microfilm. They can be ordered, for viewing, from your local Family History Center. You can check the Family History Library catalog at <http://www.familysearch.com/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp> Click on "Place Search" and then put in Alabama. Go down to Vital Records.
