Hello, If you live near Cullman, Alabama, Wallace State College in nearby Hanceville is a terrific research place for the Civil war. They have all of the Alabama Compiled Service Records on microfilm as well as many other CW sources to work with - most not found anywhere else other than the National Archives in Washington, DC!!!
