I have to back up Gloria & Steve on this one. FamilyDiscovery.com definitely has misleading information on their site. If you look at their information page, they promise monthly access at the "special price" of $7.99 a month. They then offer a renewal every two months at the "special price," to be billed automatically to your credit card. They also promise you can cancel your membership at any time. But if you visit their "Terms of Service" page, you'll see that they do not refund any money if you cancel before your month is up. They merely cancel your future renewals. Buried at the bottom of this page is their diclaimer that all the links on their site are to EXTERNAL web pages, and therefore thay are not responsible for errors, etc. I also recommend you skip this service. One of the pages on their site has a broken image link, and their "Contact" page doesn't work. Pretty sloppy work for a company that expects money for their service. Whenever you consider paying for a service or subscription databases (i.e. Ancestry.com & others), you should always a)check the Terms of Service; b) read any "Information" or "About Us" page to see who is compiling the information and how it's being done; c) check to see whether you are renewed automatically or whether you must re-subscribe at the end of your paid subscription; and d) check to be sure there is some way of contacting the company/individual if there are problems. If you don't read the fine print first, you might get taken. Just my 2 cents (or dime) worth. Teresa Gray Sault Ste Marie, MI
