Pasquel and Lousie CECHERN (or CACHERO) had at least three children, one being Don Diego ALVAREZ (b.?, d. 1819 in an Indian attack). He came from Oviedo, Asturia, Spain in 1780 with a land grant to settle in the Mobile (Saraland) area. (I was always told that his mother was a lady-in-waiting to the Queen of Spain. Don is a title similar to the English Sir.) Records of the Basilica of hte Immaculate Conception show that Don Diego Alvarez of Oviedo, Spain and now of Chickasabougue married Barbara FERNANDEZ Vecina de la Medina on January 16, 1796. Her parents were Pedro and Marian BACOY (or BAHEY). Their children were: Antoine, Joaquin and Joaquina (twins), Miguel, Brunita, Diego (b. 22 June 1800/d. 17 Apr. 1859), Manuel, William Vincente (d. 1895 in Mobile), Irene, Marcelite, Mary (or Marie) Magdealine. The first five children died as children from yellow fever. (Manuel married Fannie POTTER; William married Jane MORRIS; Irene married Lois GERRINGER; Marcelite married Thomas VAN FOSSEN; and Mary married Daniel Mason PRICHARD.) Diego married Appouline Hypolite (or Pauline Hypolette) WEATHERS (b. 22 Aug 1804/d. 2 Dec. 1888). (Father was Henry Weathers, who settled in area in 1811. Rumored to have married an Indian princess.) Their children were: Gertrude (b. 14 Dec.), Henry (d. 1894), Joseph, Alexander (b. 1831, d. 1858), Louisa (b. 1832), Emmanuel Angelo (b. 1834, d. 12 Aug. 1855), Laura (b. 20 Aug. 1836 or 7, d. 9 Mar. 1902), Thomas Vincent, Barbara (b. 1839), Frances D. (b. 17 Apr. 1842). Henry married Sarah HARTLEY, Joseph married Martha BRANNON, Alexander married Cecile MERINO, Louisa married AMos TOWLE, Emmanuel died as a young man, Laura didnt marry, Thomas married Amelia Frances MOORE, Barbara didnt marry, Frances married Eugene LA COSTA. Most of this came from a book called "People Along Bayou Sara." I would offer look-ups, but we've recently moved and I can't find the book.
