Hi all, Just a note about our marriage license that are on-line. This has been an on-going project of ours for quite a while. To date marriage license have been entered as far back as 1890. We plan on continuing on "back" (as time and staff allows) and to include our White Marriage License Books A & 1, as well as, the marriage license found a few years ago in our Will Book 1. Or in other words until we have "all" license on line! Thanks for the kind words! I am looking for any information on my ALLEN line. My grandfather was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1908. He had 2 brothers. His parents, Jesse ALLEN and Rosa Lee HASSELVANDER were married in Mobile in 1905. Thank you! Diane
I am descended from BAAS, GEANDREAU, and LIONI families. All were in Mobile County by abt 1818 (LIONI's possibly earlier). THOMAS BAAS came from Charleston SC. His grandson Joseph Waring BAAS married Mary Margaret GEANDREAU . Her grandfather Jean (or John) GEANDREAU was with the French troops of the Count de Ternay who fought in the American Rev. War. He was a Bonapartist, who emigrated to America ca 1815, and was granted land in Marengo Co AL as part of the Vine & Olive Colony. When that colony failed, he came to Mobile (around 1818.) His son, Jean (or John) Jr. married Margaret LIONI in Mobile in December 1828. She was probably born in Mobile Co AL. Jean Jr. and Margaret died young, and their daughter, Mary Margaret, lived for a while with the family of her guardian, Rowland Boullemet. Looking for information on any of these families! Hi List, I am a descendant of the Trudeau family ,Juzan and Chastang families also .Would love to hear from any others from these families or other founding families. looking forward to hearing from yall! Monica
Hi. I just wanted to post. I joined the list a few days ago. I am a direct descendent of the Demouy and Rochon families from Mobile (on my mom's side of the family). On my father's side of the family I am a direct descendent of Pool(e), Trehern, and Clark. I have a good bit of the genealogy. I was just wondering if there was anyone that has any information on Demouy or Rochon. I know that there is a Demouy "building" on Dauphin Street. I don't know where it is and I've never seen it. Does anyone know about this building? Also, I would love to know if anyone has any old pictures of any of these families!! Judy

If that fails, remember that your local library can do an interlibrary loan to any library in the country for this book. That's what I usually do before buying any book so I can see what's in it.
