    2. Aubrey W. Shelton
    3. Researching the (James) Franklin Kimbro/Kimbrell family who lived in Alabama and Florida in the middle to late 1800's. Franklin married Myrtle (possibly nee Cleveland) circa 1870 and they had at least five children---Daisy, Maggie, Gracie, Regnal, and Cleveland. Think Franklin & Myrtle lived in Escambia or Santa Rosa Co., FL for a time and prior to that they lived either in Escambia, Baldwin, or Mobile County, Alabama. They moved to St. Clair County, Alabama in the late 1800's and eventually moved to Wilburton, Oklahoma. Maggie was born 1883 in Florida. Don't know where. Franklin was born in 1849 in Alabama. Any connections? Mary Shelton

    3. Thanks for all the response about the cemetery upkeep! I had noticed the cemetery list before and even sent a subscribe message to the email address, but never received a confirmation of my subscription. This time I've subscribed to both digest and list in case one should yield a confirmation and the other not. Maybe it's just an inactive list, but I should have received an electronic confirmation in any event. Thanks also for the information about the VA restoring veteran's graves. That may help for some of them. (Unfortunately, I don't think any of my ancestors in our family cemetery were at the right age to fight in any wars, including the war between the states--too old or too young.) Still, I don't have a transcription yet of all the graves there and may never since it's so badly damaged. Looking forward to hearing from you Pamela regarding a transcription by one or more of your volunteers. In some few cases, I know who should be buried next to whom, if one of two gravestones side by side is illegible. There is also said to be an African-American graveyard in the same vicinity as Myers, but I don't believe it is marked in any way. I believe a little archeology was done there to discover that. As the area was once a plantation with a village by it, according to park literature there, that would make sense. Bronya in Berkeley, CA
