    3. Hi Edith, Thank you for your offer to check for Mobile's mayors. I think that George DAVIS (aka "Original" George DAVIS, and George DAVIS, Sr.) may have run for Mayor but am not sure if he won, or if he withdrew from the race. I don't know the year, but he was in Mobile from around 1823 til he died in April of 1850. Marianne Gilbert Phoenix, AZ >There were several people who asked for info on Mayor's this week. It is possible that you Margaret married before she married a Jordan. That's why I am including some surnames you didn't mention. Just a hunch. I hope this helps in some way. 3. It's 4:30 am and I am trying not to wake my husband. I think the Baldwin Co deadline is sometime in Sept. I will try to find out about the others. I think the project is great-I remember having the use of the County Histories in 1975-6 while I was living in Iowa - I was born in Mobile but moved to Iowa in 1959 and got interested in genealogy in l972 and the great records that were available in ILL and Ohio and that region and Ft. Wayne Library in 1982ish was like -------anyway, they really had the 'vision'. Wish I had had library training - I am still trying to learn how to use this 'machine' - our society in Mobile is great. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: 30. apríl 1999 19:28 Subject: [AL-MOBILEBAY-L] Heritage Books >Edith: > >Do you know the deadline for submitting articles to the Heritage Book for >Baldwin County and the ones for Mobile and Monroe Counties?
