    3. Earlene: John McInnis came to Miss Terr. on Georgia passport dated 28 March 1811. He is listed as having in his family group: wife, seven children and two negroes. I can account for a fewof the children but not all. They were born between 1796 and 1809 in SC. The children I have listed are John, Elizabeth, Isabella, Mary (my ggrandmother who married Eleby Lankford/Langford) Philip (who married Mary Ann Lankford in Mobile Co.) and Sibily who was born about the time of the migration. There were also Peter andChristopher who were born in MS. It would be necessary to read the book on Georgia passports (index incomplete) to find all those who migrated to Miss Terr during this period. I haven't listed Daniel or Neil with John. The Langford family does use the name Daniel frequently though and I assume it was a McInnis family name. I am still hoping that someone can lead me to records on the Lankford and McInnis families in AL. Hope this is of some use to you. 1. [AL-MOBILEBAY-L] From the List Manager...
    2. Kevin Sellew
    3. Hey folks, Well, I've asked you all that personal messages be sent *personally* and not through the list, but my requests are not being heeded by many. I even taught you how to fix your email address at the bottom of your messages with the "mailto:" option so that it would be simple for people to email you directly, but only a few of you actually did it. SO, I am forced to change the default setting for replies FROM "reply to list" back to "reply to sender." This dismays me very much because I KNOW that a lot of wonderful data will be sent back-and-forth privately that really needs to be archived on this list. Oh well, it'll just be harder for future subscribers to find you via the list archives, but that's the breaks. So, from now on, you'd better be sure to check the email address before you send, so you'll know whether you're sending it to an individual or to the list. -- Regards, Kevin Sellew in Mobile, Alabama *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* List Manager of MOBILE BAY AREA ROOTS [AL-MOBILEBAY] http://www.siteone.com/clubs/mgs/mailroom.htm *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

    1. [AL-MOBILEBAY-L] Important Notice from the List Manager...
    2. Kevin Sellew
    3. Dear Listmembers, As I am sure that we have new subscribers who have joined us in recent weeks, I want to take this opportunity to gently remind everyone that messages such as the one below have no place on this list or on ANY genealogy mailing list. If you have not read the information about this list that is posted at http://www.siteone.com/clubs/mgs/mailroom.htm then you need to go there RIGHT NOW and read it thoroughly before sending any more messages to the list. If it's been more than a week or so since you've read it, please go read it again. Feel free to bookmark it! If you do not have web access, just email, then email me back and I will email that same information to you. Rootsweb has its general policies and the "List Managers" (that's me) have fairly wide latitude regarding guidelines for their lists. The guidelines that I've set out are posted at the above web address. It's your responsibility to read the information and put it into practice during your participation on this list. There is nothing unreasonable there, and everything is intended to make your experience with this list as successful and as smooth an experience as possible. At the same time, the guidelines that I've provided at that web address are also intended to "root out" the little things that can make being a list subscriber an annoying experience. Your cooperation is appreciated AND anticipated. If you have specific questions or don't understand something in the guidelines, then email me privately at <[email protected]> mailto:[email protected] If you just want to fuss at me, then go ahead, but don't expect a response. <snip> wrote: > Does anyone know about this. We should ALL have an > >>interest in this one. > >> > >> PLEASE FORWARD TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW By the way, this chain letter has been circulating the internet for a couple years, now. It is stale, untrue and you can DO YOUR PART to stamp it out by just deleting it (and other scare starters like it) and NEVER PASS IT ON. If you have a question about one of these messages, send it to someone at your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and ask them about it. Bottom line -- Don't post chain letters to mailing lists or newsgroups (unless it's a mailing list ABOUT chain letters! <grin>) Thanks for reading -- back to genealogy. -- Regards, Kevin Sellew in Mobile, Alabama E-Mailto:[email protected] *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Independent Representative for EXCEL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. and EXCEL TELECOMMUNICATIONS CANADA, INC. I only recently discovered this Cader, when I did an online search. The name Cader is so unusual that I can't help but think that he is connected to my Johnston Co, NC, Brannans. It's hard to do research long distance, so I would appreciate any help I can get. Can you copy and paste your information onto an email message? I have a Macintosh computer, and most everybody else seems to have an IBM compatible. But usually information travels well by email. Thank you so much for responding. Sue
