Childree belonged to Company "B", 4th Battalion, Hilliard's Alabama Legion, and died of wounds at Chickamauga GA on Sept. 22, 1863. He had been wounded there two days earlier. There are several Childrees on roll in this command, most enlisting at Louisville in Barbour County on Apr. 30, 1862.
