    3. I contacted Alan J. PITTS for info on my gGrandfather and he located all the records. I then ordered copies of them from him. His email is pittsaj@hotmail.com . His service is quick, no forms to fill in and he can give you a lot of background info and discuss the history with you, all for one price. I was quite satisfied with his work and he is a very informed person on the Civil War. You can also go to http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.htm , enter his name and designate Confederate or Union and click on submit. This will give you his regiment and then you'll know that much anyway and your search will be on the way to being solved. This won't give you his personal military records, but will get you started. Good luck on your search. Will TWi9247471@aol.com wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. I do not know county or area in which he enlisted, his name was Robert Andrew Ray. Any suggestions would be really helpful, I'm planning a trip to AL soon and would love to locate cemetary records, etc. Thanks so much to anyone that can help with this!!!!!
