Most houses were two to four rooms and would not have been large enough. I'm not certain that any building in Moulton has survived from that period. Does the pension show what unit this man belonged to? There are records for a G. W. Jones in the 26th and 35th Alabama, both regiments recruited in north Alabama. But you didn'y say where this man lived in 1860.
