    1. Re: [AL-CEN] Franklin's /Simmon's Coosa County

    3. Tammy, This needs a lot more investigation, but I (personally) think that John Tyler Franklin may be the same person in the household of Lucy Simmons in the 1850 and 1860 census. In 1850 he was listed in the census as John, age 10, and in 1860, he was called Tylor, age 20. In neither census year was he named as Franklin, but perhaps didn't begin using his father's name until he married and had a need to give his legal name. If indeed, he is the same person shown as age 25 in 1870, he was shown in the 1860 census as Indian. I am sure you noticed that in the 1870 census, both Lucy and JT's son, William, were enumerated as Indian, but JT was not. Benjamin Franklin in 1850 Coosa County had a son named John whose age is a better match. He was 5 on the 1850 census, so would have been 25 in 1870 Linda in Georgia ----- Original Message ----- From: "David & Tammy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, April 09, 2004 9:50 AM Subject: [AL-CEN] Franklin's /Simmon's Coosa County > I have a big puzzle. > In the 1870 Coosa county Alabama census there is a J.T.
