Kathy, I don't find him in either Henry or Houston as Bob, Robert, Emmett, or RE. There's a Robert Cutchens indexed in Barbour, born 1917, a Robert Cutchin in Mobile, born 1916, and an Emmett Cutchen, born 1915 in Barbour. None of those look promising, but is all I could find indexed in 1930 Alabama. Sorry I wasn't able to help.
