I wasn't sure which year was more important, so I chose 1850 for this request. The list guidelines state one year and one family per request, but feel free to make another request for 1840. 1850 Tallapoosa County, Alabama - Townshp 24 - January 9, 1850 - page 123 1816 - Solomon Ray, age 38; farm; $200; born GA Jane, age 40; born GA Elizabeth, age 20; born GA Silus, age 19; farm; born GA Barbara, age 18; born GA John, age 17; farm; born GA Basherby (Bathsheba), age 14; born GA Lucinda, age 12; born GA Sarah, age 10; born GA Frances, age 6; female; born GA Ellick R., age 4; male; born GA Marcus, age 1; born GA Ransom was indexed twice as appearing in an 1855 census, but I wasn't able to find him in 1850 on either of the pages where he was indexed. You might want to try a page by page search of 1850 Tallapoosa County to see if you can locate him.
