Charlotte, There are too many Thomas and Mary Rices indexed in 1900 Alabama for me to check all to see if any have a son named Joe who was born in 1874. I did check all the Tom and Thomas Rices who I thought were old enough to have a son of that age, but none had a wife named Mary. What else do you know about Thomas Rice? Approximate age, race, and place of birth might help me narrow the field.
