    1. Re: [AL-CEN] Census Dates for 1830
    2. The official enumeration day of the 1830 census was 1 June 1830. All questions asked were supposed to refer to that date. The count was due within six months, but the due date was extended by law to allow completion within twelve months. There are no dates shown on the census images for Wilcox county. If you look at the microfilm (which I don't have access to), there is usually a cover page with the name of the censustaker and the submission date. This cover page is not included in online census images. Docjones35 wrote: > Can anyone tell me between what dates the 1830 Wilcox Census was taken?? 3. Thanks..this is a big help as some family members died following the census entries, as they are shown to be in the household at the time....So at least this narrows down the time frame a bit and that helps...thanks again.. docjones ----- Original Message ----- From: <wmcconne@bellsouth.net> To: <AL-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 10, 2005 10:35 AM Subject: Re: [AL-CEN] Census Dates for 1830 > The official enumeration day of the 1830 census was 1 June 1830.
