This may be the family. As you can see between the two census records, there is some confusion about the name and sex of one child and possibly the ages of others. He could have also been off on the initials. 1850 Dallas Co, AL, Cahawba, page 271 or 272 William H. Norris 50 GA lawyer Mary 49 SC Angeline 17 AL M. H. (female) 15 AL R. C. (male) 13 AL S. F. (male) 11 AL H. C. (male) 9 AL Isabella 9 AL Lucinda (female) 7 AL B. H. (male) 5 AL M. A. (female) 3 AL E. L. (female) 1 AL Nancy 15 AL 1860 Monroe Co, AL, Burnt Corn P.O., page 876/877 William Norris 60 GA farmer(value of real estate=$1000, value of pesonal assets=$38000*) Mary 49 SC Francis (male) 21 AL overseer Nancy 18 AL farm laborer Isabella 18 AL Leonard (Leonardy) (male)16 AL farm laborer Benjamin 14 AL Martha 13 AL Emma 11 AL * these values are relatively very large for 1860. If Oliver was about 25 in 1850, he could be on his own or deceased. There is the possibility that Francis is the person you are hunting although he's listed as S. F. in 1850. I don't see any other good possibility for Oliver F. in 1850/1860/1870 or 1880. > > From: "Docjones35" <docjones35@bellsouth.net> > Date: 2005/08/09 Tue AM 08:47:13 CDT > To: AL-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [AL-CEN] 1850 Al Census--Oliver F.
