Please disregard that request I just sent - I seem to have answered my own question. Josephine was not with Abraham Keller in 1870 - she was in a census with her parents and siblings and listed as Josephine Slattery. Abraham Keller was supposed to have been her 2nd husband, but I really can't find room for him. Fritz Hinderer was supposed to be her 3rd husband, so I was wondering if someone could check the 1900 census for Montgomery for the family of Fritz Hinderer, born abour 1835, and wife Josephine. By the way, is there an 1890 census for Montgomery? Thank you very much for your help. Melissa
Melissa, Josephine was married to Fritz Hinderer on the 1880 Montgomery County census, and no, there's no surviving 1890 census for Montgomery, to my knowledge. In 1880 you will find them listed in Montgomery County, City of Montgomery, and I am sure you already know that the 1880 census is online and free at the LDS website, http://www.familysearch.org In 1880 Josephine is shown as age 30, born in Alabama; her parents born in Switzerland and Baden (Ger). In that census year, Fritz and Josephine are shown with four children: Mary, age 15, (who I am sure should be Mary Slattery, and the same as the Mary shown as age 4 in 1870) Charley, age 6; Jacob, age 5; and Josephine, age 3. By 1900, it appears that both Fritz and Josephine had died, because four of the Hinderer children are shown in the household of their uncle, Jacob (Jake) Sutter: 1900 Montgomery County, Alabama - Precinct 5 - Montgomery City, Ward 5 - June 9, 1900 - ED 107/Sheet 14B 513 Madison Avenue 338 - Sutter, Jake, head; Feb 1852, age 48; single; AL GER SWIT; grocer; house (owns? rents?) Hinderer, Mary, niece; May 1870, age 30; single; AL GER AL Josephine, niece; Jul 1877, age 22; single; AL GER AL Frederick, nephew; Jun 1880, age 19; single; AL GER AL; clerk/grocery store Edward, nephew; Nov 1884, age 15; AL GER AL; clerk/fish company I hope this helps you get Josephine's marriages in order.
