I am new to the list, and I have recently started looking for my Mother's relatives. My great-grandmother was born ROSA WHITE, 9/3/1891 in Alabama. I am sorry, but that is all I know. I have no idea what city they lived in, who her parents were, or if she had siblings. Family lore hints that she might have been Cherokee Indian, although I never heard her admit to it. she died when I was 17, in 1973. Would some kind soul PLEASE look for her in the Alabama 1900 census? She would have been 8 or 9 years old. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer me, Denise Hirota _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
Denise, You might try to obtain your great grandmother's death certificate. It should list her parents, and where they were born, also the person giving the info. This is how I got started with my grandmother. All I knew was her name, and from the CA death records index, her mom's maiden name. Good luck with your search!
