There are no extant marriage records for Blount Co., AL 1845-1852 so all I have are family stories that my 4G grandmother was Susan Johnson, daughter of Joel Johnson and Polly Elliott. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/cen_a.htm#AL This link will take you to Alabama online census images. 1830 & 1840 Blount Co. images are included. Joel Johnson md. Polly Elliott 1818. (Records are in Jefferson Co., AL) Joel entered land patent next to James Elliott on the same day 1819. James Elliott died shortly before 2-27-1839. Wife Sarah was an administrator. Listed son Hezekiah Hamilton Elliott, daughters Elizabeth (Mrs. Caleb Reed), Levica (Mrs. Samuel McMurry) Susan (Mrs. Harden Dutton) Nancy (Mrs. Samuel Dutton) Jane (Mrs. James Lowe). Among items in estate was list a 3 yr. old negro slave named Jackson. In Sept. 1839, Sarah deeded a 4 yr. negro slave named Jack to "my daughter Polly Johnson." If this is James and Sarah's daughter, she's not mentioned in the estate. anita wrote: > Could someone with census data for 1830 & 1840 look up a James Elliott in > Blount County, Alabama. > > Would be interested in any other Elliotts listed for 1840 in Blount County, > AL also. > > thanks... > > Anita > > ==== AL-CENSUS-LOOKUP Mailing List ==== > Free Soundex code converter > http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/soundexconverter > > ============================== > Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy access to the #1 > Source for Family History Online.
