Linda, My 4th great grandfather(Carter Coleman)-was b: abt 1820/GA and race-afr/am. Don't know when this family arrived in Alabama. It also says his father was from-Maryland and his mom-Virginia. I haven't found anything other than census records to prove that. Carter's wife Adeline b: abt 1830/VA-was from Virginia. Still haven't been able to find any family for the too or a maiden name for Adeline. Would be glad to find anything I can on them. Angie
