I'm not sure why you dismiss the one in SC in 1850. Yes, there are two of them there but the other one is much too old to be yours. And there is another one in Montgomery Co, AL but he's way too old as well. The one you referred to in 1860 is most likely not married in 1850. His wife is only 21 and the kids are less than 5 yrs old. And you know he was born in SC. Just because the SC one was recorded in 1850 in SC doesn't mean that he couldn't have been in AL shortly after.
