Looking for parents of g-g-grandmother, Margaret J. Bird. She was born August 24, 1817 and married James F. Campbell March 12, 1835. He was born October 10, 1814. This info is in their Bible that my mother had. I need parents of both. I think they must have lived around Wedowee, Gadsden or Cullman but I'm not sure. Don't know where they are buried. Irene, I'd like to help you, but I don't know how I can do that with a census lookup. The earliest census I have for Alabama is 1830 and there are about 30 Bird and Byrd heads of household indexed in Alabama for that census year. I didn't check, but I would guess that there are at least twice as many Campbells. Because no one except the head of household in each family is named, Margaret won't be listed in the household of her parents, except as a number in the "free white females aged between 10 and 15 years" column. Cullman County wasn't formed until 1877. Would you like to look up the counties for Wedowee and Gadsden and request an 1830 census lookup for Bird/Byrds in those counties (one county at a time please)? Sorry I can't help without more information.
