Hello, I am new to this list and I "think" that my Great Grandmother might have been born in Alabama but I don't know where. Is there a census index for the year 1850 I could check to see which county she and her family was in? Thanks for your help KaCee

KaCee, You need to be prepared with as much info as possible before asking for a look-up. A county, town, her husbands name is an absolute necessity unless she was a widow and head of household. 1850 index only shows the name of the head of household.
