Indeed! It's a wonderful system, Evelyn, and works well for many people. Remember when nothing was indexed past 1850? I, too, began my own research way back when - prior to "instant internet genealogy" when vacations means trips to out-of-state courthouses and every weekend was spent searching cemeteries. It's certainly not the same, and just as certainly - not as rewarding. Still - it works well for filling in some gaping holes.
