Hi Linda, I looked at that death record for John William Gann in Etowah county(1919) but it offers no additional clues. I'm somewhat at a loss to find the family that exactly matches your data. There is a Gann family that matches in a few respects. First, I think their son John W. Gann is probably the one who died in Gadsden. Second, they do have a son named Ray. That's pretty slim as matches go but I see no better possibility if you're convinced that your John William Gann is the one who died in Gadsden in 1919. By following the brother George H. back to 1900, I find that James and George's father's name is John W. Gann. I can't read the mother's name. It looks a little like Ann but it's too messy too tell.
