When Elizabeth Kirkley arrived in Texas she was a wdow. Would it be possible to find her with her husband in 1850 Alabama? Elizabeth KIRKLEY, age 33, born in North Carolina. Son James, 14, born Georga Dau Ada, 4, born Alabama Plus others I do not know the names of. I realize that this is a difficult request and I thank you for your help. Nancy
Nancy, I keep coming back to this request, thinking something might change, perhaps, but I am having absolutely no luck finding this family ANYwhere in 1850, in spite of trying every search technique in the book. If Ada lived long enough to have a death certificate, that might give you an Alabama county of birth, which would be a tremendous help. Sorry I've not been able to help with this one. Hopefully Bill, or someone else on the list, will have better luck.
