    3. Melissa, The only Sutter (spelled SUTTER) that I can find indexed in 1930 Mobile County is Charles, with wife, Margaret, both born ca 1854. There's an Edward Suttie indexed, who may be yours in spite of the difference in birth year: 1930 Mobile County, Alabama - Mobile City, Ward 5 - April 19, 1930 - ED 53/page 271 501 - Suttie (Sutter?), Edward, head; renting/$19; M W 45 Md @ age 23; AL AL AL; garbage man/city truck Estelle, wife; F W 38 Md @ age 16; AL AL AL; no occupation Ruth, dau; F W 14 S; born AL; attends school May, dau; F W 6 S; born AL Elizabeth, dau; F W 2 S; born AL Good luck! 3. As you probably know, the 1840 census was done in columns and is a list of names, head of household only. I'll list the # under each column. To see a sample copy of the 1840 census, go to http://www.ancestry.com/save/charts/census.htm this will show you the questions asked in each column 1840 Limestone Alabama Series: M704 Roll: 8 Page 172 Wilson Robinson 1 1 2 1 x x 1 x x x x x x 2 2 1 x x 1 rest of columns were left blank Let me know if you have any question, Sandra Van Wyk ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry W. 2. I had figured out the Willie part, just didn't know her last name. The Hamrick's are in Chilton county in 1900 and in Montgomery county in 1910. George William Boyd married Willie about 1906 and they first appear as a married couple in 1910 in Dallas county. So that covers a lot of area and a lot of Boyd's. I think your best bet would be to go for his death certificate. William G. Boyd died 7/9/1944 Montgomery Co, AL Vol 30 Cert #14575 Roll 4 Melissa Parker wrote: > The family is white. 1. Re: [AL-CEN] Montgomery/1900/Sutter
    2. I was able to find Jacob in every census record 1860-1920 except 1900. He died in 1923 according to the AL death index. He is only shown as married once and that is in 1920. No wife is shown. I think this is an error in the 1920 record. His household in 1910 and 1920 consist of the same people - nieces and nephews. > > From: "Melissa Parker" <lissapark@knology.net> > Date: 2005/06/30 Thu AM 12:18:56 CDT > To: AL-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [AL-CEN] Montgomery/1900/Sutter > > I'm looking for Jacob Sutter, born about 1852 in Montgomery, AL..trying to find out whether he was married or not.
