    3. Thank you so very much. I do believe that the James Hill and Martha Ford Hill are my great great grandparents. Ferdinand Hammond Hill went by the name of "Ferd". His brother was John T. Hill and the ages are right for them. This is the breakthrough I have been looking for. You are a jewel! 3. Good Morning! This is my first time to subscribe to rootsweb census look up so hopefully I am following the rules. Martha A. Ford was supposedly born 8 October 1824...no known location....she died August 8, 1907 possibly in Texas, Palo Pinto Co. not sure. John T. Hill was born September 15, 1856...I assume he was born in Alabama also. He was the brother to Ferdinand Hammond Hill , born February 4, 1861 in Montgomery, AL With no dates available for James Hill, would 1850 or 1860 be the best years to look? This is all the information that I have available. So any thing you can do to help me find out anything more on James Hill and Mary Ford Hill's family would be appreciated. 1. Re: AL-CENSUS-LOOKUP-D Digest V05 #163
    2. Emmitt: I have a McClendon line as well; mine is Burwell McClendon (1802-1890) who married Nancy Crump (1804-1857) from SC to St. Clair to Etowah County. Burwell was the son of James (b/ca 1762), but I don't know his mother's name, and the tracing the James McClendon's can be tricky and confusing. James was the son of Lewis and Mary McClendon. According to my calculations, my Burwell (my gggg grandfather) would be the 1st cousin of your Samuel with the common ancestor of Thomas McClendon (m/Elinor Bush). I show Samuel was b/ca 1762 NC and died in 1845 in St. Clair Co, AL and married Fannie Dumas (no dates). The 1820 St. Clair Co, AL census is listed online for free, but it is in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format. _http://www.trackingyourroots.com/pdf/1820StClair.pdf_ (http://www.trackingyourroots.com/pdf/1820StClair.pdf) There are 8 categories/columns in that census; 1= white males over 21, 2=white males under 21, 3=white females over 21, 4=white females under 21, 5= total whites 6= total free of color 7= total slaves 8=total inhabitants Samuel McClendon is listed on pg 163: 1/3/1/2/7/0/0/7 James McClendon is listed on page 160: 1/3/0/1/5/0/0/5 I assume it is my James listed in that same census, but I am not positive. I would love to have more information on your line. I only have birth and death years (perhaps only estimates) for Samuel, and no dates for Fannie, nor a marriage date. I show children of James B, Moorman, William and John B, but no dates. I have one wife and marriage date for all the sons except for William. I have no children listed for them though. In addition, have very little on Samuel's parents John and Ann and his siblings. I would be glad to share what information I have. Hope this census record helps. Briana S. Felch Madison, AL

    1. St. Clair/McClendon/1820
    2. Could I please have a lookup for Samuel McClendon (sometimes spelled McLendon) in the 1820 census for St. Clair County. He was born about 1775 in North Carolina. He had sons that would be about 18, 14, 12, 9, 8, and daughters that would be 9, 4, 1, and his wife born about 1780. Thank you Emmitt
