Kathryn, This is the only Thompson in Franklin County, MS that matched your description, however there were several listed in the state under the name William and the initial "W". There were no Thompson's in Adams County. Can someone PLEASE tell me on the 1910 (Franklin Co.), census, what the numbers 9,10,11, 15, 16, &19 through 32 ask for? Even enlarging them, I can not read what it ask. If anybody has an index to the 1870 Ala. Census would apprciate a look up for James Carroll b. @1836 AL. I do not know the name of his wife as she had died before the 1880 census (where I found him in Smith Co. TX) James had children (all born AL) Jefferson b @1860 James J. b. @1862 Malcom b. @1865 Ida b. @1867 Martha b. @1869 William O. b. @1871 I would really like to find them to find the name of these childrens mother. I have a copy of a census from the Census Bureau that only lists one person which is my grandfather.
