    2. I too would like a look up in 1870 on John Wainwright and his first wife Jane Risor Wainwright. They were in Autauga County. Now the surname could be spelled waininright, wenright . That is what makes finding some of our ancestors so hard . The spelling is not always the same. thanks, Belva

    3. Thanks Janet for the information on W.D. Thompson. I think this may be my relative. The oldest females of the family are gathering in Dothan, Alabama this weekend, so I will check if any of them remember an "Aunt Lethie". They sure remember Uncle Duncan! He was a sucessful gambler after the War between the States. Don't know what bothered the Baptist family most, gambler or successful. Still, they loved him. May I impose a bit further? All of these are, I think, from Lincoln or Copiah County, Mississippi: Elisha MULLINS Born: Abt. 1838 Wife: Peninah Elizabeth Thompson (born 1842) Thomas Jefferson THOMPSON Born: 1849 George W. THOMPSON (the "W" is, I believe, for "Washington") Born: 1851 Thanks, Kathryn --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Get email alerts & NEW webcam video instant messaging with Yahoo! I would like the next census year after his birth. Not sure what year that would be. I would like too find out who his parents were and if he had siblings. I would also like a look up for Thomas Thomas who was born in 1847. I would like the next census year lookup. Would it be 1860 for both? These are both for Barbour Cty. Any help is appreciated!!! 3. Carol, Thanks for answering my previous query, I have another...Do you know where I can find an index for the census? My Great Grandmother should have still been a child at the time of the 1850 census. Her father was Jean Helaire Vessier, Jr. and her mother was Mary Harriet Robertson. I just don't know where in Alabama they lived. Any directions will be happily taken. Thanks again, KaCee KaCee, You need to be prepared with as much info as possible before asking for a look-up. A county, town, her husbands name is an absolute necessity unless she was a widow and head of household. 1850 index only shows the name of the head of household. Carol Hello, I am new to this list and I "think" that my Great Grandmother might have been born in Alabama but I don't know where. Is there a census index for the year 1850 I could check to see which county she and her family was in? Thanks for your help KaCee

    3. I don't know which county! I guess I am looking for any RIPPEE in MS! My grandmother's sister married a RIPPEE and they should be on a census in 1920 in Leland or Greenwood MS. I don't know which county that is. Her name was Lottie Bell DEAN and she married a RIPPEE who went by the nickname of Judge. I think his first name could be Rufus. Does anything show up in MS for any RIPPEE's in the 1920 Census? Thank you so much. They are very elusive! They were from Wright County Missouri originally. Thank you for anyone who has info on this family or any RIPPEE in MS. Diana in AL. 3. KaCee, You need to be prepared with as much info as possible before asking for a look-up. A county, town, her husbands name is an absolute necessity unless she was a widow and head of household. 1850 index only shows the name of the head of household. Hello, I am new to this list and I "think" that my Great Grandmother might have been born in Alabama but I don't know where. Is there a census index for the year 1850 I could check to see which county she and her family was in?
