    1. [AL-CEN] Would some kind soul please help me! - Finding Rosa White
    2. Denise Hirota
    3. I am new to the list, and I have recently started looking for my Mother's relatives. My great-grandmother was born ROSA WHITE, 9/3/1891 in Alabama. I am sorry, but that is all I know. I have no idea what city they lived in, who her parents were, or if she had siblings. Family lore hints that she might have been Cherokee Indian, although I never heard her admit to it. she died when I was 17, in 1973. Would some kind soul PLEASE look for her in the Alabama 1900 census? She would have been 8 or 9 years old. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer me, Denise Hirota _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

    3. Denise, You might try to obtain your great grandmother's death certificate. It should list her parents, and where they were born, also the person giving the info. This is how I got started with my grandmother. All I knew was her name, and from the CA death records index, her mom's maiden name. Good luck with your search! 3. The b4art@localline.com has already been unsubscribed from this list. This is why I said to mail me privately. This person will not see this message from you sent through to the list. Please, Just send me privately & If you want to send the infected person, that's fine to, but please do so "Off List". Messages liek this do NOT belong in the list archives & that is where these will end up. 2. Maureen
    3. If anyone knows of a person that is infected, please mail me privately & include the list name & the person's e-mail address. This way I can unsub them till they can get there computer's cleans & then they may resub to the list. This should hopefully spare at least some of us from getting the virus. Also, if you use Outlook or Outlook express, Please update the version (patches, etc) as My outlook caught the attachment & blocked it, as well as my anti-virus program notifying me of it. Please do not open ANY attachments that have a double file type, (for instance) Hampster.doc.pif the .doc.pif should tell you there is something wrong with that file as it isn't a valid file extentsion type. Good luck & be carefull of what you choose to open. Maureen List Mom

    3. It's me again! Could someone please look-up the following families in the 1860 census for me please? I have found the index online, but not the census. If anyone knows where it might be online, please let me know and I'll check this out myself. Thanks, again, so very much for your help! Fredreica speyer@bellsouth.net GRANT, C. State: AL Year: 1860 County: Dallas County Record Type: Federal Population Schedule Township: Union Beat Page: 874 Database: AL 1860 Federal Census Index Note: My GGG-Grandfather was Wiley Cleavland Grant. His wife was Martha Eliza SHARP. His father was James Wiley (or William) Grant. His mother was Abagial Ann SHADDOCK. He had at least one brother who also lived in Dallas County until after the War Between the States. Either his father or his father-in-law raised camels, as did a Mr. WOOLSEY, who, I believe, may have been a neighbor. Wiley Cleveland Grant married 2nd) Mary MURPHY in August of 1864. I do not know where the Union Beat islocated ,although if anyone knows how to access them via the internet, I would love to know the map site, so I don't know how close these people are to one another. The census page numbers seem to indicate that they live in the same general area. My GG-Grandmother, Mary Ella Grant, was born in 1858 in a community that was known at the time as Frog Level. It was near Bellevue in Dallas County. Bellevue is in central western portion of Dallas County not too far from Browns. I believe the family also lived around Pea Ridge in Dallas Co. MURPHEY, W.
