    1. [AL-CEN] Alcy or Alsie Mabry
    2. Karen D Rogers
    3. Am looking for an African American woman, Alcie or Alsie or Alsy Mabry. She was born in AL. I have found her in the 1880 MS Census as the wife of Simon Mc Lsuaghy now Simon Mc Gaughy. I noticed in the house hold there are children, I am searching Nancie Mabry - Knowles side. I would like to know the real relationship with Alsie and Nancey, in particular, who are the parents of Alcy or Alsie Mabry. IT might show something important. Thanks for your help. Kay Rogers

    3. I have seen in the rootsweb town and state search that Morengo County and Geneva County are both listed as being Geneva Al. I would appreciate a census lookup of John Peters born abt Sept,1797,and died abt,1888.Im not sure if his wife was named Biddie, but believe it was.I want so much to know who else was in his household. The year for the lookup I guess could be 1820,30,40,or 50....I just need to know what children he had,so Im at a loss as to what year to look up. Any help would be appreciated so very much. Thank you, Best Regards, Shirley

    3. No, Carolynn, not at all unusual. I've even gone to the original census pages in the archives and examined them page by page looking for folks I knew to have been in the county during specific census years, and have found not only families missing but in some cases entire communities. One trick that works (occasionally) when a family was not skipped but mis-indexed is to check for the families living on both sides of their household during the previous and following enumeration. If you can tell me who Reuben's neighbors were in 1860 and in 1880, I will check to see who was living nearby those folks in 1870. Or - just tell me where they were found in 1860 and 1880 and I will check when I have time. Still - Reuben with the railroad, they may not have had the same neighbors for very long at a time. 3. Thanks for offering to look further, Linda. Spare time is something you probably don't have much of. Maybe I should let Reuben rest for awhile. I'll pick on one of his brothers instead. Thanks also for your advise of how to find a family that may have mis-indexed. 3. Jack, I don't find a CE or Charles Harmon/Harman indexed in 1910 Houston County. The "C" names indexed in Houston are Crawford Harmon, black male, age 43, and CV Harman, black male, age 32. There's a Charles T. Harmon indexed in 1910 St. Clair County, white male, age 61 - and a CT Harmon in 1910 Montgomery County, white male, age 62, but that's all I can see who are even close insofar as "C"s go.
